The Manìn Gardener Vest is one of the purest expressions of the brand’s love for gardens and craftsmanship. Unisex and one size, it is crafted in Italy from authentic Scottish Shetland wool, spun and woven in Scotland from original Shetland sheep. Soft yet full of character, this Shetland has an unexpectedly gentle hand, giving warmth without weight. The rich lobster-orange tone brings light and glow to winter days, making the vest feel both heritage and quietly modern.
Inspired by the traditional gardening waistcoat and transformed into couture, the cut is impeccable: a refined stand collar, an over and architectural fit that honours the original workwear proportions, and sartorial construction throughout. Inside, the vest is impeccably lined in Liberty of London fabric, adding a private moment of colour and poetry close to the body. The horn buttons were personally chosen by Maddalena, selecting the exact shade to harmonise with the wool.
The generous tool pockets have been divided into thoughtful compartments, ready to hold books, pencils, chocolate, watercolours or garden secateurs. There is even a hidden pocket, for treasures or little secrets. Worn over the Manìn Chemise, the balloon sleeves and collar bring structure and a whimsical touch.
Part of the Manìn matchy matchy world, the Gardener Vest is also available in a Mini version for children, allowing families to share the same joyful elegance across generations. Timeless, genderless and full of soul, it is the crown jewel of the Jardin d’Hiver collection.

Because true luxury deserves gentle hands.
At Manìn, every garment is crafted using natural, breathable fabrics — from soft Italian cottons to Liberty prints — and finished with delicate details like real mother-of-pearl buttons, selected one by one.
Treating your Manìn pieces with care helps preserve their beauty and craftsmanship, so they can be loved and passed down, again and again.
Washing Instructions
To keep your garments in excellent condition:
- Hand wash or use a gentle cycle (max 30°C)
- Use mild, eco-friendly detergents
- Turn garments inside out before washing
- Avoid bleach or aggressive stain removers
- Use a medium-low spin cycle (max 800 rpm) to reduce stress on fibers and buttons
- Wash delicate items inside a mesh laundry bag whenever possible
Note on buttons:
Our garments are finished with real mother-of-pearl buttons, natural and precious. Handle with care, and avoid rough spinning or direct friction during washing.
Drying
Never tumble dry.
Heat can weaken natural fibers and damage the delicate details.
Instead:
- Gently reshape while damp
- Air dry flat or on a hanger, in a shaded, well-ventilated place
- Avoid direct sunlight, which may fade prints and alter fabric texture
Let them dry slowly and softly — just as they were made.
Everyday Tips
- Use padded hangers to preserve shape
- Fold knitwear to prevent stretching
- Store with lavender sachets or cedar wood for protection and natural fragrance
- Spot clean when possible — it saves water and keeps fabrics stronger for longer
Stain Removal
Life is for playing — here’s how to gently treat stains:
- Grass: white vinegar + cold rinse
- Fruit or juice: soak in cold water, then wash with Marseille soap
- Grease: apply talc, let absorb, brush off, wash
- Ink: gently blot with lemon juice before washing
Always blot — never rub — to avoid damaging the fibers.
